How are award entries judged?

The short answer

A named jury scores against published criteria — usually design resolution, context, sustainability and quality of documentation.

Credible programmes publish their criteria and jury. Typical weightings cover design intent and resolution, response to site and climate, material and detail quality, and how clearly the project is documented.

Because documentation carries weight, a modest project photographed and drawn well can outperform a stronger building submitted with poor images. Read the criteria before assembling the entry.
